music man pickup problems...hellp!

    hi there
    i've got musicman 1977 pre ernie ball bought used but in good shape 14 y. ago

    in the last few years the E string have lost power..it's not as loud as the other 3.i though must be a pickup problem
    what could it be?
    is the misterious alnico who's having fun of me? :spit:

    Due to it's age the Alnico may need to be re-magnitized.

    Magnets do lose power over time. And they can be re-magetized fairly inexpensively from what I understand, although I've never had it done cause I don't mess with vintage stuff. Nothing uncommon about Ray players complaining about an imbalance on the E string though, new or old.
