MUSIC MAN S.U.B. QUESTION

    Hey everyone. I recently picked up a Music Man SUB, and I really like it alot. However, the item description says it has active electronics, and it indeed does because there is a battery compartment. Here's my question tho: I have replaced the battery 3 times, and still have not gotten any higher output. My amp has an active and passive input, and i get the same volume level when i plug this bass into passive as i do when i plug a passive bass into the same jack. I guess my question is...are there some basses with active electronics that do not have an increase in gain? Am i doing somthing wrong? :confused:

    Just because a bass is active does not mean it has a super-hot output. Some do, some don't. With the SUB, I think you're really only adding juice to the output when you boost the treble or bass with the onboard controls.
