Music Man Sabre Questions

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by freshmeat1989, Oct 19, 2005.

  1. I'd like to make a Sabre look alike using the new Dual Humbucker Stingray's to honor (but not just to honor) one of my favorite bass heroes, Eric Wilson of Sublime in the future, but I need to know a couple things about Sabres.

    1. How similar is the body shape to a regular Stingray?
    2. What was the color and neck woods of Eric Wilson's Sabre?
    3. Do you think using a custom pickguard and control plate theres any way to get anything resembling a Sabre?
    4. Too much hassle?

    1. Very. I think it's exactly the same except for 2 pickups.

    2. Don't know.

    3. You can get anything if you're willing to pay for it.

    4. Yes.

The new dual humbucker Sterling will get you much closer, body shape-wise. New/custom pickguard and control plate would pretty much do it.

  6. Bump, thanks so far fellas.
