    I been everywhere, man...
    None. At all.
Unless I'm way off, EB SR5 basses always had a oil and wax finish on the neck, and some headstocks got a gloss finish. Large manufacturers finish necks so they don't have to deal with a lot of warranty claims about warped or twisted necks later. Some exotic wood necks as well as roasted maple necks don't require finishes but the usual maple used most of the time does.

I've emailed Ernie Ball questions about a particular bass along with its serial number in the past and they were good about answering them. They can tell you for sure.

@20db pad If it is oil and wax finish, whats the best way to clean and care for it? I have been using a light polish and wax to date but I don't want to ruin it!

Great, this is good feedback. So I shouldn't be using polish and wax on the neck? the stuff i use for the body of the bass. I have included a picture of the polish.

Will the fretboard have the same finish?

If it's a maple fretboard, yes.

What does it say the polish is comprised of?

I had an early one (1989?) that was glossy.

Don't use that stuff on the neck.
