Music notation on the internet

Discussion in 'General Instruction [BG]' started by robsmirc, Jun 24, 2003.

  1. I've been looking for a while but cant seem to find any database on the internet that contains notated popular music for bass.

There are heaps for tab music which is no good when your trying to learn the theory side. I'm trying to combine getting my theory together whilst also learning songs for my cover band. I would be a good change from learning by ear.

If you know any sites that post popular notated music please post them here.

You probably don't find any because of copyright issues.

Classical music is mostly without copyright protection, so you can find scores for that.

If you want notation, you'll probably find it's an opportunity to get your transcribing chops up to speed along with the theory stuff ;)

That's how it's been working for me!

Not everything in life is free, especially those things that you want to come easily.

Thanks for that website Davepe. I can read music so much better than tab. That is a great find.
