is there such a thing as collapsible AND sturdy? I've seen one or the other but not both. Thanks
I use this Peak Music Stand:
SMS-50 Collapsible Music Stand
Peak also sells replacement parts on their site.
This Hercules Music Stand is also sturdy:
Brilliant, thanks. What are the dimensions of the Peak when folded?
According to Amazon: 27 x 6 x 6 inches
Note that it comes with a Carry Bag.
There is enough room in the bag for a few cables when the stand is in it.
An alternative. One can save thousands of songs on a tablet. The tablet can click onto a mic stand
I dig the technology, but I'm not there yet. Don't need anymore cords or electronics to worry about in that setting. Still pen and paper for me lol
Just go on Sweetwater or any other site and start looking. Several out there.
Model #52C Music Stand
Just like the ones you probably used in high school, but with a folding base. Doesn't fold as small as many, but as durable and simple as it gets.
I have a very sturdy music stand that clamps on to my mic stand. The last thing anyone needs is more clutter on the stage.
I have the Peak SMS-40 and love it (http://a.co/eGqQkSH). It's small and light weight when folded up.
It's sturdy enough for me to put my iPad (music) and my Amazon Fire (XR16 PA controller) during a gig.
I always keep my PA up so I can make any corrections if needed.
K&M Heavy Duty
I have some sort of off-brand thing I bought off Amazon some years back. It's collapsible, and sturdy as a battleship. It also weighs as much as one. Honestly, a Manhasset would be less trouble.
I have used one of these for years, will hold a heavy 3 inch binder songbook, folds up into a little carrying bag.
