well, here is the deal. My choir is going on a dinner/dance cruise and i guess everyone thought that i know about dance music, so they stuck me in charge of getting music and DJing the dance. There will be about 120 kids of highschool age, no parents will be dancing, unless they wish to. I need music to dance by. personally, i dance to anything and everything, so i have no idea what is danceable.

Could you all pull-together and help me with some good music to dance by? Please, it must all be "fun" music, and yes, rap is acceptable. Not too many cusswords, please!

    Thank you all,

    Love Shack
    Jungle Boogie

I'm not hip to the latest dance tunes teenagers like from guys like Puff Daddy. My 16 year old son listens to the same music I do.....hard rock and classic rock.

"walking on sunshine" by...i don't know!?!

Have any non-Australians heard the song "run to paradise" by the choirboys? They were an Aussie band in the 80s i think, but that usually gets everyone started out here. It ain't really a dance song though...everyone just loves it for some reason?

    "Scatman" by Scatman John

Please tell me I'm not the only one here who remembers this song.
  9. I wish.

I absolutely adore that song! That and Ganggajang, "Sounds of Then", are two of the best Aussie songs ever.

Grab the You Got Served soundtrack.

    The Killers - On Top
    Jay Z - 99 Problems (radio version)
    Jay Z - H.O.V.A
Unearth - The Great Dividers ....theres bound to be some people there that wants to mosh, gotta serve all dancing needs :0
Snoop Dogg - Drop It Like It's Hot

Any song that was popular when you were a kid is probably going to be considered "Old School" now. So I'd try some of the old funk songs.

    Hope that helped.

EDIT: I just remembered, Napolean Dynamite dances to Jamiroquai - Canned Heat, if you play that song I'll guarentee you you'll get half the floor dancing :).
  13. James Brown, you cant go wrong with old school funk.

    Try some Prince too
