Musicman Fret Buzz

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by FingersMcginty, May 22, 2011.

  1. i recently bought myself a second hand musicman stingray series 133 for £750. its in mint condition apart from a relic on the top of the neck.

the bass is beautiful to play but having it now for over a month ive discovered noticable buzz around the 5th and 10 frets.

i took i to the local music shop where it was bought. and all they done was raise the action to a near unplayable level to get rid of the buzz.

are there any steps i can take to get rid of the buzz or anything else i can do?

Is it buzzing when it's plugged in? Or just unplugged?

Do you play gigs with it unplugged? :/

Anyhow, fretbuzz is great as long as it's not choking your strings. Listen to RATM's self-titled album which he recorded with a Stinrgay. Tasty fretbuzz. I love it. :)
