I've been thinking about buying a Stingray 4 and totally opposite of what I would normally choose (natural finish), I am really drawn to the Firemist Purple with matching headstock. It just screams funky to me.

Anyone have experience with how their matte black hardware holds up? I am guessing it's anodized? Their website doesn't say. If the purple had chrome hardware, I would be completing my order now.

The sound of the 40th old smoothie may over ride my thought of getting the purple anyway. Just curious about the black hardware.

I got a MM Bongo Stealth - all matte black hardware. Looks/feels great.
I don't know anything yet on how the matte finish will hold over time, I only got the bass for a couple of months.
I also have a Stingray 40th Smoothie by the way - different animal due to the positioning of the pole pieces.
