    Hello,

    If I have a serial number : L 00155 on a musicman stingray,

"L" stands for left handed??? (it´s my case)

"00" means the year of 2000???

"155" stands for the number of lefty basses made??

    Peace,

    JP

    Hi JP,
Man you could be right, but I don't think they fall into such an easy category. My Stingray is E14XXX and was made in 2000, not 1914. If you email Ernie Ball (unless yours is preEB, they may be able to help you date your Stingray.

MusicMan number their instruments sequentially. Unfortunately the date and year of manufacturing is not in the serial number. In order to get that info, send the Ernie Ball customer service dept a email with the serial number of your bass and they will email you back a complete description of it along with the date it was "born".
    Cheers
PS - If you go to the EB website you can find the email address to their customer service reps there. I recently did this and they got back to me in a day. They were very helpfull.
