I own a Musicman Sterling, and I'm proud of it..
Exept the shape and the weigh, is there really differences between those two babes?? :bassist:
  2. The StingRay has 21 frets and the Sterling has 22. But the main diference is the electronics. The Sterling has an electronics package similar to the one found on the StingRay5 (3-band EQ, coil-splitting switch). The StingRay 4-string has no switch and the mid-cut/boost knob is optionnal.
  3. A Stingray has a slightly thicker, crunchier sound than a Sterling, but, with its 3 way switch a Sterling is more versatile. Neither one is better, they're just different. I prefer a Stingray, but, I still want to get a Sterling.

The Sterling has a more slender neck...jazz bass like.
