MXR Auto-Q M-120 vs. M-188

Discussion in 'Effects [BG]' started by moosapotamus, Dec 8, 2005.

  1. I sent this question to customer service at Dunlop/MXR and got nothing back from them...

Does anyone know if the LO setting on the M-120's band switch makes the M-120 (guitar version) work and sound like the M-188 (Bass version)?

If it does, I'm wondering if the M-120 would be the better one to get because it might be more versatile, since the M-188 doesn't have that band switch. Anyone ever compared these, or tried the M-120?

    Thanks

I just sold my MXR Auto Q on ebay...

I never liked it because it just sounded like it was made for guitar...

  3. NJL - Did you have the M-188 or the M-120?

I think those audio clips of the M-188 on the Dunlop/MXR site sound pretty damn good. I'd like to know if the M-120 is capable of getting the same sounds, or if it's frequency range just doesn't go as low as the M-188.
