I'm not an effects guy, but I got a this MXR d.i. pedal for the heck of it, and man, I'm glad I did! This is an interesting pedal. It's got a DI, compressor, distortion, coloring, and a gate. My favorite feature? I boosts your volume 2 fold!!! It's also about the size of 2 regular Boss pedals. If anyone has one of theses, I'd love some pointers.

i do know the DI you speak of. its a nice one. i didnt personally like it, however, it is made well and does good things.

i happen to like mxr stuff better from the 70's. ecspecially their distortion +'s. peace.

I'm getting one of these, or a SABDDI. Wondering which would be the best for my intentions (purely a recording item for bass DI)....?

woodchuck, one good trick (SMASH actually found this one).

With the second channel, turn the distortion to zero. Then when you kick in the second channel, only the eq shape will be applied - it's a slap friendly one.

So I use it live to go between regular and slap eq's.
