I loved the look but was never satisfied with the way she talked. I switched from an active Seymour Duncan to a passive DiMarzio and now she spits and coughs and growls. Black strings and black graphtech nut complete the ensemble.
I don't like black hardware in general, but I like the black pickguard and chrome hardware idea. Might try out one of those Babicz bridges if I go to silver hardware. I guess the D-tuner can go too, I never ever use it
is the neck actually blocked and bound or is it faked with vinyl stickers and some kind of paint... It kinda makes me want to attempt to stain my fretboard to make it look bound too...
It's an Allparts bound and blocked Jazz Bass neck. Although, I wish I had bought a Squier VM Jazz and taken the neck from it, I like the way the satin neck feels compared to this one (although the allparts is prettier and a little chunkier front-back)
Thanks dude! The story is: "Six foot girl gonna Sweat when she dig/ Stand close to the fire When they light the pig/ Standing in her chinos shirt pulled off clean/ Gotta tattooed tit say number 13" Also, I was big comic book fan growing up, so the pose/hair/hat are lifted from a panel of Tank Girl by Jamie Hewlett. The additional writing on the tattoo says "3rd DEGREE," my friends and I call our garage band 3rd Degree Tear. I drew the design on paper then did it on the bass with white shellac primer for the white parts and clear nitro lacquer for the skin. It looked a bit bare so I added the stripes in black nitro later and then sprayed clear over the whole thing to even out the texture.
You've had a good experience? To me it looks like the only bent metal bridge replacement that functions fundamentally different from the others. All others (the badass, the Gotoh 201, etc) may have big brass plates and saddles, but they still have the same weak point where the saddle only contacts the brass by the two tiny adjustment screws.
Believe it or not, I recognized the Tank Girl art! Very, veeeery cool looking bass - and +1 black guard and chrome!
