Just having fun and working on bringing their parts together.
Oh wow I miss these days....
We have 6 kids and they all but one had musical abilities and always would jam with themselves or with me and my wife.
Now they're all grown and have moved on except one.
I'm happy for you.
My daughter sings so we have done covers of a couple of her favourite songs. In play all the instruments and record to multi-track. Very fulfilling!
Thanks! It is tough enough with 3 kids. I can’t imagine 6, so lots of credit to you and your wife for making it through.
Mine don’t plan to make a living out of it. Just covers here and there, although they enjoy playing live despite being real shy.
As I often say, it sure beats the alternatives of video games and texting.
Nice. I’ve got no idea what I’m doing on the recording side of things. I’ve been winging it.
Sounds pretty good to me!
That's what I was thinking! You did a good job of mic'ing everything up.
Now I need to know what's on the bassist's pedalboard...
Thanks! I’ve got a hard time mixing in headphones and achieving the right end product. And simply don’t have the time to edit after the fact.
Here’s his pedal board.
Oh, this is awesome. Thanks much for posting That was more like what I did growing, my kids, not so much.
Only one of my sons enjoyed the work part of playing music, but growing up he was playing in so many musical entities, school bands, marching, orchestra, show choir and and Jazz bands, the adult all county community band, church youth band, and adult praise and worship band, home was like a refuge from playing.
But on the other hand, we got to see him play a lot and grow into a top flight PRO that’s made a tremendous career in the Marines as a bassist and now and ensemble leader.
Wow. That’s very cool. Sitting in the audience makes me proud of how far they’ve come. But simultaneously nauseous as I was the lead trumpet player in my bands and dreaded solos.
Awesome! I have four sons and all I want is a band!
I got to know a good Catholic family that had a baseball team…a couple of the became pros. The one I played with in little league eventually blew out his arm about a year before Tommy John had his, and had to give it up.
That’s awesome, they sound great!
Your kids are better than a lot of bar bands I've heard. Congrats!
Sounds great, thanks for sharing!
Mom and dad have to get in there and start dancing.
That’s a surprisingly accurate approximation of the extent of my dancing ability.
Tell them to learn how to sing.
We need more singers in gig land. lol
