My Acoustic B100 is acting up. Fix it, or replace it?

I picked up a 15" combo Acoustic B100 back in January when I decide to pick up the bass again after a long hiatus away from the instrument. It was on clearance, which is why I picked it up.

The past few days I've been getting low grade static or hissing when it's on, and I'm experiencing an intermittent ugly sounding distortion.

How expensive are repairs on amps? I've never had one go out on me before, and I don't know what to expect. The amp was only $170 to begin with, and I'm not particularly attached to the tone. Would it be better to just deal with it for now and save for a new, nicer amp; and if so, what would you recommend trying out? I'd like to stay under $600.

For reference, I have two basses (a MIM P Bass with TI flats and a Pedulla 6-string with DR Fat Beams) and I enjoy listening/playing everything from old-school jazz to metal to hip hop.

If you got it from a local retail store I would take it back and see what they can do? it should still be on warranty.

Agreed...the first thing to do is just return it. They have a swap-out deal if you are the original buyer.
