i cant tell if its the amp or the cab. its a light distortion, its not too noticable, but it gets worse when i turn my mids up. i have a Carvin r1000 and an Avatar 4x10 and a 2x12.
its definatly one of those 2, because i've isolated it to one of those, but i cant tell where it is. its either both cabs or the head.
  2. Try the head through a different cab then try your cabs with a different head - that should tell you.
Most times people say "My speakers are distorting" it's actually the amp, but you need to do some trialling to be sure.

Yup yup. Try the head with one cab, then the other, then yet another one to see 1) if it's one of your cabs and 2) if it's your head or not. Once you determine which component is messed up, we can help you figure out *what's* wrong, and possibly how to fix it. Cheers,

i only have 2 cabs, but each is either distorted or its the head, i can bypass the head and just run the cabs with out the head
