Sounds like a wire slipped/broke off the input jack. Cabinets don't usually just die, they moan and groan and fart and give you lots of warning...

If you have a multimeter (or just an ohmmeter) check to see if you can measure any resistance from positive to negative.

You can plug in a speaker cable and measure across the other plug.

When you checked it with another cabinet, did you use the same speaker cable?

When it stopped working, did the amp shut down?

You might want to check to make sure that the speaker cable isn't open or shorted...

You are using a SPEAKER cable aren't you (not a shielded instrument cable)?

lucky you-it definitely sounds like a simple "wire got dissconected/jack broke" sorta thing. dying cabs are usually noisy about it.
