German luthier Reiner Dobbratz of LeFay has just finished my new babie's twin brother, mine will look quite the same... two more weeks of anticipation, can't wait to get it! What do you think of it ?
Congratulations! I wish I could afford one, but maybe Reiner will give me one for free, with all the promotion work I do here. Treat it well, or I'll take it away from you
JMX, I HAD one, it was a MKII, about 1988; I liked the sound, but the noise was a little too excessive, so I sold it 2 years later. But I think the actual model will have improved a lot, so go and try ! My working gear at the moment is an Aguilar DB659 which I'm deeply in love with! BTW: Herzliche Grüsse aus Österreich! ;-)
No I don't: it's one of the last instruments Reiner sold directly; the fivestring was 3000.- which is currently about $ 3500.-. He is although going to sell them via selected retailers (one in Germany, probably even NYC and LA) from now on, so consider an increase of about 25% + shipping
Ah, one of those eurobasses.. They rock, me thinks. Perhaps I should get one of those Mr. Schwarz's, ponder..
I don't normally care for headless basses, but your girl is SWEET (terrible metaphor here. )! Looks like she has wide spacing (just the way I like 'em)... true?
How could you guess that from the distance ? She even has an unbelievable nice back, really worth to touch her over and over...
I've got to admit that I don't usually like headless, but I also have to admit that this one makes me shiver. That's a beauty! Simply wonderfull, congrats Nightshifter!! I hope you'll post soundclips!
I love the color & the carved top...... Only thing I can see wrong with it is that it has 1 (one) too many strings
