Last night, 21 Oct, Bodhisattva was awarded the Grand Prize during the Lehigh Valley Rock Review Contest held by National Academy of Recording Arts for the recorded song Deep in the Belly.

This event was sponsored by Philadelphia Chapter of the same organization that holds the Grammy Awards.

It was a fun event held @ the Sterling Hotel in Allentown where all finalists had their song played and critiqued by a panel of industry professionals and then the winners were announced.

    The prize package includes:

    * Showcase slot @ Grape Street Pub in Philadelphia http://www.grapestreetpub.com
    * CD duplication package from Disc Makers
    * Free website design by Canary Promotion & Design
    * Free photo shoot with Lisa Lake Photo Design
    * Free hour of publicity consultation with Nancy Falkow of Said So Public Relations
    * 10 Hours of studio time @ the Sound Chamber

we entered the discmakers competition, too. got a rejection letter with tickets to go see the finals. that kinda hurt.

guess no one wants to sign a power proggish rock quartet these days. whaddo they know!

all the best to you guys!

I was about to warn you against cdbaby, but after going to The Dude Pit to find the thread, it turns out that it is cdstreet to avoid.

  14. Although we might strive to be happy with our music in and of itself, there's something about outside recognition that gives you a zing. Congrats!
