My band frequents between C standard, D standard and E standard, what gauge strings should I use?

I don't have the money for separate basses (I'm a student!), so I was wondering what the best solution would be. Cheers in advance.

Tune to C standard and use a capo on frets 2 and 4 for other tunings. Cheapest solution possible.

As for gauges, try a set in the 125 to 130 range depending on how much tension you like.

    This.

I'd look at gauges like 60-80-100-125, and tune them UP to C standard. That should give you approximately the feel of a medium gauge set tuned at E standard.
