Hey people, if you're so inclined please have a listen to my band's new track and see what you think. We play what you might call "jazz pop" I guess. I'm playing a warwick corvette standard strung with flats on this one, plugged right into the board https://soundcloud.com/goodintentnz/anything-goes
Sounds really nice. Reminds me of Sidewalk Chalk (from Chicago). The bass tone is fabulous. Well done.
Catchy, enjoyable. The singer needs to be brought up in the mix or the horns brought down. They were competing for the same sonic space and the singer was losing. Nice bass line and tone.
I really dig it. I'm not sure that the singer needs to be much louder in the mix, but the horns definitely need to come down. They are really competing with her in that range. I would say the MC is actually mixed too loud with the singer being just about right. One more mix note is that the kick is really indistinct. Minor niggles though, great bass tone and a great track overall.
Most of the mixing seems fine to me. Nice bassin' too, especially during the rap part, I was digging that. I think the rapping was a little too aggressive for the music though. Something a little smoother would have been more fitting in my opinion. Still, neat little tune you guys have there.
Freakin good... And the mix is perfect for me anyway... Good bass playing by the way. What was the bass you used for the recording?
