Hey everyone, I'm an 18 year old bassist from London, UK. Just starting to get my Bass playing carreer on track. I've been doing some bass videos in my spare time at uni. Let me know what you think!! For Once In My Life - Stevie Wonder Darling Dear - Jackson 5 Joints & Jam - Black Eyed Peas Follow my twitter: @JamesSmyth11
The video quality is really good, and the sound is good too...too good! We all have copies of the recordings... What I want to hear is YOU playing. I want to hear your bass, tone and notes, not the music I've heard for 20 years. I suggest that you bring the music way down, and put you bass in the mix up front, where it belongs. From what I can hear of YOU, keep it up. Good job.
Thanks! That was a problem I had with the Stevie track for sure. I was new to logic pro and mixing down through it at the time so made a hash of it. I did bring the levels up for the next videos, however I was keen to kind of show how the bass still fits with the harmony. Especially with such a groovy song like Joints & Jam. All the bass you hear IS me though... I edited the original tracks to cut out the bass guitar as much as possible Thanks alot for the positive feedback!
It's my understanding that keeping the "music" volume down also decreases the chance that you'll be flagged for copyright infringement. Perhaps people who know more about scanning programs could chime in here.
thanks james yep, played a lot of different music in my years so there's quite a variety in the list. my vids just have z.e.r.o tonal excellence playing live with a camcorder, but it is what it is and have to make due.
Hey everyone! Here's my latest bass cover if you're interested in watching! Like/share/subscribe if you enjoy it Number City - Coheed and Cambria
funny I already got the youtube notify because I am subbed to you over there, but thanks for the reminder...great job once again
