My bass

Discussion in 'Basses [DB]' started by Rimas, May 9, 2001.

  1. I have an old William Lewis and sons bass that i picked up for cheap at the music store(consignment). I was wondering if anyone had any info on the old William Lewis and Sons company in chicago, I cant seem to find any, and im curious about my bass. Thankyou.

  2. ...a little slow on the response but better late than never I guess. I bought a bass last November, and it was also made by Lewis & Son in Chicago, supposedly around 1940-45. I was actually trying to find out more about it too and came across this thread by the search function. They have a website here and it tells a little about their history, but there's not very much information there except that they still make and sell instruments, I think mostly student quality level.
  3. Wow..that was while ago... thanks. :D
