Thanks alot man. I love deals like this. I'm super excited to gig with that 8x10. Never have moved that much air before My buddy that works at the GC told me a guy had just left for the ATM to put it on layaway but he told them not to hold it for him. So I was at the right place at the right time.
If I have the money, I cant find a deal. And, if there's a deal, I certainly won't have the money. It pays to be in the right place at the right time.

Clearance, huh? That can't be good for the fate of that cab. Bummer. It's a really good cab. Not a real deep sounding 810 compared to the Ampeg but it's got a strong mid presence. I'd definitely buy one for $500. Unfortunately the one at our local GC sold.
Over 6 years ago I was working the door at GC... At the time the SWR Megoliath was priced at $1499. I put one on layaway with my employee discount for around $950 (IIRC). Then a week or so later they decided to liquidate their stock of those cabs and closed them out at $599. So I cancelled my initial layaway and bought it at the closeout price. I even found a new one in a box in another store and had them transfer it over. Score! I sold the cab last year for $650... After extensive use. Score!
i read about someone buying a clearance markbass f-1 at a GC so i decided to stop by my local one and found the last F-1 they had in stock marked down to 499!!!!!!! it now happily sits on top of an epifani ultralite cab(soon to be 2) gotta love GC clearance sales.
Regarding MarkBass- I think that GC's 2-year "exclusive dealer" agreement is about to expire, hence the "blowout" of their gear. May bode well for availability elsewhere.
Well, I guess what I said before is not totally accurate, I did get a 2X15 Mesa Boogie Diesel cab for 350 back in 1993. It was brand new. The same day I bought my 91 stingray for 800. The stingray was owned for 6 months by a friend of mine who traded it in to get a stingray 5 string. It basically sat in his living room the entire time. I have put many miles on it since then.
Great Score, man! Lady luck shines on everyone once in a while. Nothing like an 810 for shear ... um, BASS!!! And getting one at a great buy makes it even more enjoyable. Post a pic of yer new rig!
