That's a ripoff. I've seen them go for less than half that much.

Beautiful bass, but 4 grand?? Nah.

If anyone is dreaming, I think it's the seller.

Then again, you never know. Some folks have money to burn.

It does indeed look nice, and probably plays well, but it is not even close to being worth $4,000. That is just crazy!

I don't understand what makes people spend 2600 bucks on a vintage P-bass so paying 4000 dollars for a new Fender seems even more awkward to me.

if I had 4 grands I would buy a high-end stack and/or a real high end bass like a pre-gibson Tobias or a used Warrior, Lakland, neck-thru Warwick, F Bass etc. but thats me.

if you have to get a Pbass you are better off with the new 2000 am stds or an early 70's Pbass, rather than buying what is basically an american made Precision Lyte.

  8. LOL-there is one of those basses at Giampetro guitars for 1750$ somebody hasn't done their research.

Yeah, a Lakland Bob Glaub would be a much better buy. Or save yourself a few $K and get a new American Precision Deluxe. That is one bitchen sounding bass, and I'm not even a P-bass fan.

what the heck bridge is that? some wierd fender PJ bass at a local music store has one, the thing is selling for 200 bucks cos the neck is messed up, and the electronics are not stock (has a pushbutton switch, for example) and it has a lace sensor P pickup. it's a pretty wierd creation.

and i agree on getting the american deluxe P bass instead, that thing is one bad mofo.

To the seller, I'd say it's value is whatever the highest bidder pays! No one is going to force anyone to but it...

Four grand for that bass is absurd. Sure, it's worth whatever someone's willing to pay for it, but I've seen those basses on ebay over the past year or so and the ones that sold have all been under $1,500 (IIRC). If Giampetro Guitars is advertising one for $1,750, that tells you it can't be worth more than $1,500. :)

Buy an American Deluxe p-bass instead. In fact, buy mine -- it's on ebay now. Shoreline gold, rosewood board, perfect condition w/HSC, and you'll have $3,350 left over to buy a Lakland or a Sadowsky. :D

  15. Hey wait a minute!!!!!! There's something wrong with the picture!!!!! Can you figure it out? Check closely the knobs!!! In the big picture it's gold, but in the smaller pictures they look like black plastic knobs? What the heck?
