Just sent in the initial deposit on my new custom FBB fretted six string (#1065-02). Now the waiting begins :).

    Here are the specs:

-Custom designed extended single cut six string body
-Spalted Maple over Swamp Ash Body
    -Wenge neck with Jatoba stringers
    -Macassar Ebony fingerboard
    -Bartolini M56 pickups
-Bartolini NTMB preamp with push/pull defeat
    -ABM Bridge
    -Gotoh tuners
    -All hardware is black

Attached is the sketch I made of the body. The inspiration came from many other designs.

    cool!
We'll be cousins, I guess. He's building #62 for me now, which is also a singlecut body shape, with the butt point.

    Ain't it fun?!

That should look very classy. Single cutaway bodies like that are HOT.

    Mark,

Damn, It looks like I lost another spot in the production line. I've been away and I'm still thinking about what neck stringers to use. That burl is a beauty. Is that a 7 piece neck? what woods? I should just send him a deposit and make selections as I go.

xush: #62 is looking good! And yes, it is VERY fun!

SoComSurfing: I know I won't be disappointed, sorry :). Just discussing the design and components of 1065 with Matt went way beyond my expectations. His replies to my emails were lightning fast and very helpful.

    SuperDuck: Thanks!

    I do :)

My inspiration for the design came from many sources. Fodera, Conklin, F Bass, Sei, Bee Basses, MTD, and FBB as well.

Yeah, that's not a bad idea- there are some specs you can hammer out as you go.

Hope I'm not hijacking the thread here...
My 7 pc neck is wenge/maple/purpleheart.
I've really grown to love wenge necks. I'm trying this one w/ a maple board, so we'll see how they work together...I love a wenge fingerboard too!

That's one of the reasons I thought Timbre's #65 is going to be cool; you just can't beat a wenge neck!
