Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by dain bramage, Dec 25, 2005.

  1. I just got my first bass today! I love it, great tone! It's a Dragonfire, which is an in-house brand of TNT guitars, a local shop.

  2. so what do you think?

    Have fun with it!
  4. Do you guys know what it's modeled after? I'm thinking Yamaha or Ibanez.

Look's like the 80's headless Yamaha, what's it called, BX or something.

Edit: Yamaha Motion B. Looks similar?

watch some traditional player to get the basics on finger style, then start jamming out on your scales.

you do NOT want to learn with a bad finger style. It set me back months to break bad habbits.
  17. Yeah, about that.... my fingers bleed after a couple minutes of fingerstyle. I must be doing it wrong. That's why I've been using a pick.

Pfft. Don't wuss out. :D just kidding.
Whichever is more comfortable for you, play that way. Honestly, i'd learn how to do both. You can't get the same sound out of a pick that you can from your fingers.

Check the Technique form for tips.

    Enjoy and have fun!

  19. I just put some Dragonfire J Bass pickups into my Fender. I didn't know what to think, but I gave it a shot. They are actually very good and I feel it's one of the better investments I've made for my bass. Great company.
