So my unique bass is almost done. Unique because I believe its a combination never done before. The neck is a Status carbon fiber, the body is Brazilwood and Brazilian Blonde Oak. Its heavy but not over the top and balances quite well when I held it by the horn.

I liked how the body design went, a mix of precision and jazz. Now its about removing the excess of wood, carving the pickup and pre holes, adjust and rock the world!

Some blurry pics, my hands tend to shake a lot. :atoz:

Oh, I loooved the Status neck. Its wide, but quite flat, I could even play 1 finger per fret with less effort than usual.

  2. That looks really awesome!

I think you made the bass wrong, it's upside down.

Its kinda common nowdays. Modulus, Zon and Status are well known companies who work almost exclusivily with CF necks.

I like how for being brazilian I could get Brazilwood for cheap while foreignes have to pay ridiculously high prices for some Brazilwood on a bow. :D

  11. So when can we expect new pics?

So, as you guys can see, I still have to install the pre-amp. But the body is quite comfy, even if a bit heavy, it balances wonderfully.

Oh, I guess some of you will note how the pup is quite close to the neck for a MM one. Well, it happened the guy routed the pup cavity in wrong distance, when i pointed out he was so "Oh fuuuu...".

But I said no problem, since everything is so rigid and dense in the bass, the pickup close to the neck may round the tone for good. And I dont like, he will make a shield to cover the first hole and drill a new one, for free of course. Don't know about the tone yet, but the feel and ergonomics are top notch. I loooove the status neck.

Oh, another observation. I love the Fender MIA Deluxe bridge, since each saddle has 3 or 4 grooves, I was able to aligned the strings with the pup poles effortlessly.

that's a big +1 from me too...it reminds me of a house that would be on minority report or a house from one of those pharmaceutical commercials showing how futuristic and clean their product is.

    ...nice bass:D
