my friend home studio (big pictures)

My good friend Sylvain just finished his home studio. I think it's great!
he sent me some picture I thought you might want to see it.

if you plug direct the acoustic doesn't matter, since (as you can probably guess) he is a keyboard player, everything is done direct. exept the voice.

the acoustic in his case is important for playback only, that why you can see some panel and bass trap.

 

He use the version of protools that came with his sound card, digi001, I think it's 5.1, not sure though.
He use logic audio for midi and protools for audio recording.

I think the Roland 2408 is a really cool machine, 24 track, effects, ect.... for about 5 or 6K that's great, and they sound pretty good also. You rent some mic and you can do a very demo.

 

He can play almost anything, he is a professional keyboard player. He played with many artist here in quebec and was on the road for 3 years with le cirque du soleil. They play 1 year in australia, maybe you have seen them.
Sydney, Melbourn, Perth...

He is working on his solo album, he is in the pop r&b kind of things these days.

He have 8 keyboard, plus the rack. He have at least 3 or 4 other keyboard in the rack.
His studio was very very expensive!
A lot more then 20 000$.
Only his mac cost him 6000$. Some keyboard that you see are over 3 and 4K also. THe monitor, where about 1500$, ect....
he is closer to 50 000$.

That's why I posted this thread, I'm really happy for him. With the circus gig he could afford all the gear he wanted.
