Check these three Mike Lull basses out guys! The silver sparkle one just killer!! I hope I can get my Lull bass ASAP! {} {} {}
I traded a Lull M5 away about two years ago - for a really nice Pentabuzz. It was a very fair trade, but I've always missed that bass. It was one of the few M5's that Mike built with Aero pickups - which are my preference. Well, I saw the bass show up for sale and it will be coming back home next week. This one was on my top five list of basses I wanted back. I really like that black five with the blocks. Sweet!
My god....... I finally found some pictures of Modern 5 from a Japanese web site that exactly like the one I want to order......Anyone can help me.....my gas just raise non-stop...........:scowl: Check this out JPJ! http://www.ikebe-gakki.com/goods_detail.php?g_id=52119 If they are not asking that much, I think I will go for it for sure.
Nice pics, Tim! I hope you'll get your Lull sooner than planned. Out of the pics you've posted, this one really caught my eye. A Lull PJ5 is the #1 bass on my GAS list. And after seeing this pic, I want a PJ5 in the same top/finish, plus a matching headstock and a rosewood fingerboard. My M5V is a killer gigging bass; -and it sounds killer on the tracks I've used it on. My bandmates are always praising it's tone. And to top it all off, Mike Lull is a wonderful person to work with.
that bass is sitting next to me as I type this. I was doing our amp demos at NAMM with it last month......it came home with me! The Fralin pups are coming out though.
Glad to hear that you're getting so much mileage out of your M5V, and you are absolutley correct....Mike is one of the greatest guys to work with. I should be receiving some brown boxes from him over the next few weeks....CAN'T WAIT!!!
I'll be watching for pics, Jay! Oh yeah, my M5V is logging in lot's of gig miles; and I can't seem to put it down at home either! You know who I'm calling for my PJ5 when I'm ready. It'll most likely be a custom order, -unless you have one on hand that I won't be able to resist! -Art
Yes. Some of the best playing necks out there. These things are "rawkers" too!! Some of the grittiest, growliest tones I've ever heard from a bass!!
mmmmmmmmm I had just emailed Lull to ask if I could get a birdseye board without dots . . . looks like I can!!! I'm thinking olympic white with matching headstock, birdseye board with no dots, tort guard, 3 band EQ!
Here a large pic where you can see the figuring on the board better: http://www.nehp.net/~lychesis/Lull/lull2.png Also here's the page from The Access Bass site where I bought it: http://accessbass.com/MikeLullTransWhiteMV5.html
I really like them. I like the Duncans I have in the black one as well. Can't say one is better than the other, just different. The Duncans definitely have a more "vintage" vibe. S'all good!!
