I have a gig tonight, that I've been looking forward to for some time. The band is called Chris Armour and the Leading Brand. Lead by my mate Chris on guitar, local guys on keys and drums, myself on bass and a guest harmonica player/singer in the 2nd set.

The reason I'm looking forward to the gig so much is mainly because of the drummer, Richard TeOne, and the harmonica player, Terry Casey. They're both older guys, whereas the rest of us are in our early 20s. They're both amongst NZ's best blues players, and they know the style and tradition inside out. As soon as Richard starts on the drums, you feel right at home and Terry is the best harmonica player I've ever seen live. He can play like Sonny Boy one minute, Little Walter the next and then Rick Estrin the next. On top of that, he's a great singer.

Anyway, just thought I'd share a bit with you about my gig tonight. I've played a few jam nights recently, but it's my first proper gig in years.
