Thanks to Joel and David and Dave Segal (NYBW) for getting this done and in my hands. I'm very stoked to have it. The quality is top notch throughout this instrument, and the sound and playability are wicked.

    Good question!

It's just a mute, they put it in in case I wanted to switch to dual coils and have the coil tap.

  9. Ah, cool. I knew that was the coil thing with the Nordy Dual coils, but couldn't quite figure out what it would do with the Big Singles. Having a mute switch on the bass is actually cool (like the Fodera).

I wonder is you could do a series/parallel with the Big Singles? I'm not sure how that all works.

    Is it alder or ash?

    Ebony or rosewood?

    Beautiful instrument!

Classy looking bass! Looks like the balance is good with the long upper horn too?

Thanks guys. It is a really cool bass. When you pick it up, it is easy to tell how much thought went into the design and execution. Dave Segal's setup work is really second to none in my opinion.

Tonally, I love the clear and "big" Fodera sound but I crave the punch and growl of Fender. This bass really combines both of these attributes with the alder/ebony combo and single coil PU's.

I hope some of you get to check out the GS basses...they are really underappreciated IMO!

Very nice, Will! That looks like a fantastic bass!

And in truth, I am encouraged to see another Groove Shoppe bass delivered, as I am waiting on mine, and have not had a status report in some time (despite calls asking for an update). :(
