here are some pics of the Koa i bought from a dealer on Kaua'i. it was an 80" long board, 8" wide and 1" thick. i had them cut it to 20 - 22" lengths before shipping. the piece with the knot should be good for 2 or 3 headstock laminates. bookmatching time!!! f
Fred, What are you going to do with all that beautiful koa? Would you mind sharing your source? I was in Kauai about 3 weeks ago...
Carey, i was waiting for someone to ask. let me bookmatch them this week and post updated pics. i plan on using 2 for me, with one left over to sell(whatever). maybe have a talkbass giveaway! like i said, i should have enough for 3 bookmatched tops and headstock veneers. YUM! f
Carey, i didn't realise you were THE CAREY! i'd be honored to share some. i'll send some pics before i post! f
What the hell does that mean, "THE CAREY"? LMAO. You're going to saw them yourself? Cool. What saw are you using? I have a great source for blades. They work wonderfully. highlandhardware.com Look for the Wood Slicer blades. Very nice resaw blades. So, you say "2 for me". Are you building basses? Post pics!
Fred, I had a dream last night, no kidding, in which I learned that "fhodshon" is sanskrit for "rooster."

I often dream in Hindi or Sanskrit I guess ffrom my time living in India... Why you were there is beyond me. Maybe it was the mushrooms...
now you're scaring me... No, you were doing a performance art piece in which you slapped yourself in the head with a steak while reciting an e.e. cummings poem.
