Here is the bass my son built for me. Palonia body with douglas fir top and bottom with leather edging. mahogany neck. Brass nut. Old school 50s P-style head-stock. Single (volume) knob.

Sweet man! I love the simplicity!

Guys, instead of making him feel bad for not having the right link, why dont you help him out? You can type in the link in the OP, copy and paste, and see the bass.

Bruce, you need the Photobucket tab beginning and ending with [.img]

ok...more pics, especially of the leather edging and I'd love to hear how it sounds. Very nice! I am a recent convert to SCPB pickups (just about 60 years after the fact) :) Is that standard SCPB pickup placement? It looked a bit closer to the MM sweetspot vs. the traditional 51P location (I might be wrong, though). Very nice

It looks really nice! I dig the Tele headstock, and the wood grain on the top. Why no tone knob though? :bag:
  16. That's a beauty!

    Subscribed for "more pics".

They're not strictly necessary, really. I would do fine on a bass with no tone knob.
