My homemade Automix footswitch works!

  1. The 1986 Peavey Musician Mk III I bought off craigslist in Austin c.2007 did not include the Automix footswitch that came standard with the amp 141214_0002.jpg . So finally, with a wiring diagram supplied by Peavey and parts from them and Radio Shack I tried my hand at making one.

You can barely see both LEDs on for the first time since I've owned it. Channels switch, reverb on/off, phase on/off, just the way it's supposed to.

I needed this little victory, but don't ask me to solder another 6-pin DIN plug for a while.

  2. Good job, those 6-pin DIN's require a lot of patience and a steady touch with the soldering iron. I've ruined more than one.

    Enjoy your success!

Pat yourself on the back! It doesn't take much to melt those type of connectors and the space between the pins is tight. Having a third hand helps.

I'm impressed. I bought one from a company that makes them. How much did the parts cost you?
