My Imaginary Fantasy Dream Rig, Need Help!

    I'm planning out my Imaginary Dream Rig, made from only the purest Unobtainium (not really, I'll get it, some day, starting out with the Power Amp in a few years probably...) and I need help deciding on things. I've chosen the following items but need some help deciding on others:

    Aguilar 728 Power Amp (will 400watts be enough headroom?)
    Acme B4 (Is more than 1 a waste of money, since I'd probably be playing either through a PA or just small buildings? Also is 400watts enough to power these beasts?)
    Furman PL-Pro
    BBE Sonic Maximizer 882
    Korg DTR1 Tuner (Is the DTR2 any major difference? I've heard of it but never seen it or read about the differences)

    And now the things I need help with:
    Compressor/Rackmount Effects Unit:
    Is a DBX 1066 compressor good? Name anything else, I just chose the first compressor I heard about
    Preamp:
    The Preamp is the main problem I'm having...
    This leaves me with 2 Imaginary Fantasy Rackspaces... I now have to decide wether to get both an Ampeg SVP-Pro AND a SVP-BSP ($700 list each, 1 Imaginary Fantasy Dream Rackspace each) OR an Aguilar 680 preamp, which is $1800 list and 2 Imaginary Fantasy Dream Rackspaces...

    So which Preamp(s) would you recommend? I'm looking for completely biased opionions, personal experiences, or recommendations for my playing style (Pretty much anything with good low end, fun grooves, or fast insane playing, I'm not wed to any one style, although I am a Rocker at heart...)

    Anywho, sorry for being so long winded and probably unclear, but I'm really anti-social and have a hard time communicating with people. ;)

    Personally when I built and later sold my dream rig it used a Demeter Pre amp. One of the most often used amps in BP magazine to test other gear. Words like Transparent, Clean, Large headroom, will always come along with a Demeter. Its really only for people that are not addicted to knobs and eq's. Mine had a 3 band (low mid high) a presense control and 2 notch switches one for the presence control, the other for the bass control and of course a volume knob. I used it in a similar rig to yours, (400 watt power amp solid state) BBE 462 DBX compressor and a Korg tuner and I loved it with 2 15's. I would have liked to play it with 4 10's but never got the chance. They have an artist list that reads like the whose who of EVERY type of music from R& B and Jazz through heavy metal. I love the rest of your rigs components BTW

    Hey thanks, I'll check it out. I personally hate knobs, the less the better. :D

    This is also the downsized version of my old Dream Rig, the original called for a 16-space rack...

    There happens to be a Demeter Pre amp on Ebay right now at about 200 dollars when I looked. I realize its still a dream rig but what the heck

    Well if I had the money I'd get it, but right now I haven't even been able to change the strings on my bass since January...
