My Lakland Skyline Glaub with Dark Star

    This is the bass that I had talked about a couple of weeks ago regarding swapping the strings from TI flats to RW's. I put a set of Lakland RW and I much prefer the tone and feel.

    Wow. That's really nice.

    I love the sound of the stock Fralins on the Glaub, but from what I've heard, the Dark Star is an incredibly nice alternative.

    We need sound clips. :D

    (Yeah, like I need any more GAS).

    The Dark Star sounds great. It has a very wide range as discussed here. I feel that by utilizing flats with a Dark Star you loose some of that wide range, as the highs get attenuated somewhat. It is perfect with rounds. I compared it to my USA Glaub (stock Fralin pickup) that has the same strings and they compare very well to each other, with the Dark Star giving you more on the treble response.
