1000 year old redwood top, mahogany neck and body. I was smitten when I first saw this bass and finally relented thanks to Atlanta Bass Gallery.

This is a gigging bass for me and its already seen a gig. Great sound: mellower than the standard SR, very sweet midrange. The bass is very light (added bonus!)

I've switched the pickups and electronics on my other EB basses but this one is going to remain stock.

While pricey for a "production" bass, the fit, finish and detail are equal to any of my boutique instruments.

  4. That is a gorgeous EBMM. I think they look incredible as a "boutique" instrument. Congratulations on the bass. When you have time, can you take pictures of the back?

    beautiful

  6. Very nice! How do you like the neck finish?

I love the oil & wax finish of the standards EBMMs but the poly finish of the 30th Anniversary is the main reason I never really play mine, despite her great tone.

the poly doesn't bother me (i too prefer the oil and wax mix on the standards)--neck is fast and comfortable.

rest of back is just plane-jane black
