My little grammer lesson

Discussion in 'Off Topic [BG]' started by Davidoc, Nov 5, 2003.

  1. "Heigth" is not a word. I've seen so many people use it. It gets really really really annoying. It makes me want to kill small forest animals.

Heigth? Who has ever said heigth meaning it as a word other than a misspell of height?

  3. Maybe you should take a real grammar lesson.

its is possessive form for it

e.g. That was not the best of its qualities.

IMO, this was a very silly change made to the language (in reference to the possessive form of it). It's an exception to its own rules. ;)

    Have you no shame!

Sorry, I asked before and got the same negative response...

This is a family oriented site!

And you're old enough to already know how to start one!

Three hail Mary's for you! And a hail Odin just in case we were right after all...

    seriously!

I came to that realization in the 4th grade, I told all my friends about it, one of them said (in all seriousness) "I could care less what the correct way is"

    oh well....I couldn't care less...oh wait..;)

  19. Excellent! :)

And to use it in a proper sentence:

It's cold in here because the babysitter's dumb boyfriend brought the automatic pitching machine indoors, and being used indoors was not the best of its qualities. It had truly busted all the glass in the house.

Note that we used, "truly busted," to emphasize the fact that there ain't no more glass in the house, and the cold Nebraska wind is blowing through. :D :p

Sheriff asks: Where's your grammar, boy?
Boy answers: She's home with grandpa.

Mike (leaves through glassless window) :D
