My "new" '78 P-bass!

    I bought this from "pickles" a week or 2 ago, and it just came today. It is amazing...........

    Good thing he didn't have a good camera or else I would have ended up paying a lot more than I did for it!

    PS - reccomendations for a cab to go along with this bass and an Eden Time Traveler head?

    Most P basses I've seen I've really hated the looks of. That, on the other hand, is a work of art. Have fun with it.

    Sweet, that is beautiful.

    I apologize for the thread jack butt...I have 78 P that I added a J pu with Bart tct electronics years ago; Have I ruined it's re-sell value?

    yes, more or less you have, but its probably still a killer basss.

    Oh ... on cabs, it pretty much sounds good with anything, but my favorite P-bass tones have come from basses of that era through an SWR Goliath II (not the III!). An eden D-410T would be great too. But you'll want a 4 ohm cab, or two 4 ohm cabs with that head.

  10. I've been wondering this for a while, is the thickness of the neck of a vintage fender P the same as the neck of a standard Precision?

    Varies widely by age. They've been very thick and very thin and everything in between.

    Yeah, that's what I figured. It has been a sweet sounding but I do regret the work. :meh:
