I finally bought myself a new bass!

'02 Fender American Jazz Bass V!
I ordered it a month ago and got it last friday. I´ve been itching to post about it but I had to wait until I got the digital camera at work.

This bass is fantastic! Great construction, very good fretwork. The bass is very solid and feels very good. The neck is pretty fast and I didn´t have to tweak the setup. The action is very good, no noticable dead spots and the sound is HUGE! It puts my Washburn to shame!
It´s a three tone sunburst and I ordered I tortoise pickguard from www.pickguards.com, looks much better than the white pickguard IMO.

The neck is a bit wider than my Washburn and the string spacing is about 2mm wider. I´m adjusting quite nicely to the difference, even though I´ve played a narrower neck with tighter string spacing for seven years.

I took a bit of a gamble when I bought the Fender. I didn´t have a chance trying one at the store, but I had heard it in concert and I fell in love with the tone. Now, after playing it, I LOVE the tone!
This is a bass I´ll never let go!

Hmm..well enough rambling here are the pics (all seven of them).

    Here´s the body..

Not a big fan of 5 in a row headstocks, but it works with the 'burst n yours.

Makes me want to get a tortoise pickguard for my MIA75 reissue in sunburst.....

    :mad:Thanks a lot :D :)

So what exactly is your address? DO you leave the bass at home when you go to work?

    LOL!

Aw, that is a beauty! Excellent decision about the pickguard, too... it's a really pretty t-shell, not too full of bright yellow as some are.

I might add that I was pleasently surprised with what was included in the case when I got it.

    I expected this:
    Hardcase
    The bass
manuals and the truss rod tool.

    What I got was this:
    Hardcase
    The bass
manuals and the truss rod tool.
    Schaller strap locks
    Soft cloth
    Fender strap
    9 feet instrument cable.

    Very nice!
