I got this bass yesterday, I traded it for my Ken Smith BT 6 Elite, today I took it to practice and with my SWR rig it sounds SWEET, low action, great tone, looks beautiful and weigths as much as my shoe, I'm not trading or selling this one anytime soon :D

    Your bass looks great ;)
I emailed Mike 20 minutes ago and he just replied, now that's a great customer service, here's his reply:

Thanks for your email. I am glad you like the bass. That combo is one of my favorites, This is an MTD 535. This is the 782nd bass of my new MTD series. The serial number is 782030102.
The body is mahogany with a maple burl top. The neck is maple with a maple fingerboard.

Mister Mike, thanks and keep up the good work :)

    Bass Guru,

Congrats and welcome to the MTD brotherhood! You have a cool wood combination. From what little I know about how Mike mates woods to achieve different tones, I'm guessing that you're getting a punchy low-end and mid bass, with some nice crisp highs that are refined but not too brittle?

    Nice body top!

I don't know how to post sound clips, but if somebody tells me how to I will :)

You are correct, I'm loving this bass, it nails the Miller sound and the finger style tone is awesome, this is one of the best basses that I've played.

    One more pic...

That is a great combination, Mahogany and Maple. Another nice thing aabout Mike's serial #'s is that the first 3 number are the number in order and the last six are the bass' birthday. In your case: march 1, 2002

    Mike

BTW - You got the better deal - a MUCH better deal!

Sweet! I kinda wish I had gotten mine natural. That thing looks great. Almost the same woods as mine, I have an ebony fingerboard instead of maple. I'd assume that they sound pretty similar. Nice score!
