I just got him yesterday at Club Bass in Toronto. By far the nicest bass I've owned yet (my second bass lol!). I can't get over how great this bass is: the feel, sound, look, vibe, for under $1000 is pretty exciting for me. I went to a band practice RIGHT after I got it, and after my other band mates were complimenting it, it got right down to business delivering some awesome tones. Wellllll, time to join that Lakland Owner's Club now!
Congrats. You will enjoy the hell out of that thing. If you ever decide that you need more bass, having been in that situation with the same instrument once, I strongly recommend upgrading it as opposed to getting rid of it. You may regret it a little bit.
Haha thanks! I've been combing Talkbass for months and you guys seem to like your Laklands and upgrading them. Nordies, perhaps? http://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/3772012878/ Check it out
well for right now I'd leave it alone. MY problem with my 01 wsa that it was extremely versatile, but it didn't have a sound that was particularly WOW mind blowing. I also needed a fretless at the time, and off it went. Not sure if it was a good idea now. In any case, my advice is play it i na few different settings and see if you need a more specialized sound. Nordy big singles and a better pre amp were something I was definetely considering though, can't say that would be a bad upgrade.
