hey guys. just bought a new bass! i love it -- it's a 1913 milanese bass built by antonio monzino.
a few more pictures.
Congratulations, looks beautiful. How's the sound?
That's a tease. Stand that pup up in a corner and shoot the whole thing. Lets see the shape of her, front back and sides.
Sorry I'm really rubbish with cameras. I'll take some other pictures later when I can find my camera...
This is the shape (from the Kolstein website). Will take some other pictures later on.
Oh, when did you get that? Recently? I think I played it.
Yep, I bought it about a week ago. I'm getting some set-up work done at Gage's over the next few weeks, and I'm picking it up after I get back from an orchestral fellowship in Europe that I'm leaving for later today...
I thought so.
It sounds great, looks great, and is just an amazing bass in general (if I do say so myself!). I love it.
I wasn't cheap either!
Well, I did get an extremely good deal on the price.
If you bought it from Kolstein, why not have them do the set-up?
I live in NYC so Gage is easier for me.
I know you were'nt cheap honey.......
Beautiful bass Doc. Nice French polish.
What a sweet instrument. Thank you for sharing it. Hope that the fellowship is a ball on the new bass...
Thanks, thanks! Wish I could have brought my new bass on the fellowship, but it's in Switzerland and I couldn't pay for the whole mess of shipping the bass right after dropping all that money on buying it! So now I am in Switz and borrowed a bass from someone in Geneva... it's not bad, but it's not like my new baby!
your new bass looks like a beauty! congrats! what is the string length on it?
Hey! With little to no info on DB's, I think it looks wonderful!
thanks! Will try to get some better photos up when I get back to the US...
The string length is 41"
