I finally got a chance to take some pictures of my new Brazilian Rosewood top, pickup covers and finger board with flame maple binding Benavente SC Set neck on Black Limba and Swiss Pear neck. This instrument sings like nothing else!! Had a few people wanting to see pictures once it was complete so I figured I would just start its on thread.

That's a sweet looking bass. What sort of pickups are those? What do they sound like?

That bass looks really nice. I love set-necks, it's the best of everything IMO, what made Chris decide to go this route? How would you compare his SC's with neck-through to his with the set-neck? Congrats.

Thanks guys, I’m really excited with it. The pickups are something special I had done for this bass.
The Set-neck is great, it very much like the neck-through from the physical look stand point, but the neck only sets in to the neck pickup verse running all the way through the body on the neck-through.

Chris started doing set-neck’s last half of last year. Actually recently most everything I’ve ordered has been set-neck’s for stock instruments. They’ve all sold by the time they arrived, but the set-neck is nice in that is has the sustain and smoothness of a neck through yet the punch of a Bolt-on. Actually in January i added the set-neck option to the price list for the Vortex as well as all neck-through model’s.

Here’s a couple of other set-neck’s that where completed with My Brazilian.

    Hey Chris,

I just retired a tuition payment, I got 2 years on the next.

That gies me a bit of time to work up my ideas for my custom
    order ...

I really don't have much access to TB anymore except at home,
[ and I'm hardly ever here... go figure, with 2 college bills, eh? ]
but there is a little reward due for daddy soon, something tells me
it might be a new bass.

Punch through an email so we can stay in contact.

    Thanks,

    Thor
