I recorded this with my D. Lakin bass (Joe Osborn model). Comments appreciated
That looked like so much fun. And your playing, coming from the left, was so right Great job I enjoyed every second. Kinda felt like Cold Blood w Lydia Pense. I like watching lefties, I can mirror image their licks
Nice work! You guys sound great. Side note: I had a chance to try a couple of Dan's basses early on, and really liked the tone of his Js. Yours sounds killer.
Thanks Greg! I had actually kind of stumbled upon his basses by accident. I was originally trying to get a Lakland bass, but Lakland wouldn't even consider making me a lefty bass unless I bought the American series, which is pretty expensive. A friend of mine told me about Dan's basses and showed me the prototype...Haven't played another bass since!!
Man thank you Clark, that's a great compliment!!
Really great, loved the part at 4:00. Whats your writing process for a tune like that? Jam it out with the band or come up with the bass and then people write over it?
Nice work! You guys are tight and fun all at once.
Thank you! This was such a collaborative track. I came up with the melody and grooves during a rehearsal, and then I just let the vocalist write over it, and the trumpet player came up with some horn lines. I work these guys almost every weekend in Chicago, so it's really easy to write music with them!!
wow great tune
what's to say? simply great! fantastic! two thumbs up! fun video!
Great tune, great playin, you guys are tight and fun to watch...
That was cool. And funky fun! Great job! The tone on your bass was killer!
It's great that you all have so much fun.
I really like how you manage to flash a smile while playing a funky bassline. In fact, the whole band was smiling. Makes it look like you're having fun! No bitter-beer bass face for you guys.
Here's the second one we just did!
Really good stuff.
The CD is finally coming out for anyone interested, thank you!
