My new Jazz project, what do you think?

  1. Hi Gang,
My first post in this forum. I recently acquired a new G&L SB-2 jazz style neck, and I wanted to show off my work to see what you guys think?

Picked up a smaller size jazz body off ebay. Did some routing in the neck pocket and control area.
Sadowsky tuners,(Smoothest ever), 4-bolt neckplate, Lindy Fralin Jazz pickups, '62 Fender style stack controls/knobs, BadassII bridge, modified jazz pickguard.

The bass sounds EXACTLY like my Mike Lull that I sold 3 months ago. Great tone, action and playability.
G&L make great necks. The only maple neck that I like better is on my '78 Stingray.

Let me know what you think. Total invested, (not including time), $700.00 Not bad for a high quality bass. Thanks alot.

  2. Very, very nice. I really like it. That's one of the best looking frankenbasses I've ever seen.

  4. Well Nino, ya know, I did get my inspiration from you. Another sweet Valenti jazz. How much for that one? Or is it for sale?

This bass I sold but I took off the hardware & pickups & put then in the red Jazz I traded with you.

I ended up putting chrome hardware on the bass w/BassLines Hot for jazz pickups.

  6. I got a question about the electronics on it...Do you have both pickups routed to 1 pot for volume and then the other one for tone, or do you have each on a seperate pot for volume and no tone?

They're concentric pots. If it's wired like a '62 ReIssue Jazz, it would be Volume on top & tone on bottom for each pickup.
