I saw and played this bass in a store the other day and it hooked me like crack! A new release from Fender Japan, a PJ-style Jazz Bass. It's a passive instrument, very much in the '70's Jazz style, with block inlays and truss rod. Has that shimmery 70's J-Bass sound but with a big P-ness ;) too. Don't know if this is true but the salesman said it's a limited release. Love it!

Thanks! No, Corner Music in Nashville had it (they may have one more). 615-297-9559 ask for J.D. and tell 'em Bobby sent you!

    Bobby the King!

The bass plays great, feels like Marcus or 70's reissue.

Hmm... I wonder if I can get my local retailer to bring one of these guys in to try. They seem obsessed with squier and don't bring in many fenders. Any idea what the model name is?

Check out Ishibashi directly from Japan. Great used product selection. I purchased two 75 RI's J-basses and love them. First pic is one I had refinished by Marty Bell. Second pic includes others but it's the one on the left. Now considering Pbass. Shipping is about 150 door to door.

    Good luck!!

This is a 75' reissue Jazz Bass. Fender did not import many of these into the U.S. My local shop got one and it is seriously killer! A very well made and great sounding PJ. stunning color, too.
