In the last week, I've pretty much upgraded my entire rig, except my power amp*. Now, I'm using...

Line6 Variax (I have two, both black, both 5 strings)
    -
Ampeg SVP-Pro preamp... Pod XT Live is coming in the mail soon!
    -
*just got a new power amp, too - Crown I-Tech 4000!
    -
    Phil Jones Bass 8T
    -
    Ampeg SVT Classic 410HLF
    ===

I traded my Carvin 410 and 1x18, but my Aphex Aural Xciter, Modulus Quantum 5, and Spector Euro NS-5 are for sale.

I LOVE my Phil Jones cab. The Ampeg is also great, but it's really the Variax that brings my tone to where I want it.

    Pictures coming soon!

Cool! I liked the 9T that I played through once upon a time, but it was way too heavy for what it was, IMO.

  3. Don't PJB cabs have weird impedances like 7ohms and what not? How does that work out for you?

    Top to bottom:

    Ampeg SVP-Pro preamp
    Crown I-Tech 4000
Line6 power supply for Variax (right of Crown with green cable running into it)
    Phil Jones 8T
Ampeg SVT Classic 410HLF (I keep the horn off and use the 8T for high-end)
and of course one of my two Line6 Variax 705s!

Oh yeah, and that mic is an MXR 990... not bad, actually. It was free when I bought a Presonus Firepod from Musician's Friend. Eventually I will replace it with either a Sennheiser MD421 mk II or a Shure KSM44. I have two KSM137s that we use right now for whole-room recordings into the Firepod, along with a Shure Beta 58 for Nathan's vocals, and SM57s on his cab and most of the drums.

P.S. That Crown I-Tech is 2000 watts PER CHANNEL at 4 ohms... oh yeah, and it weighs 28 pounds!!

  8. That's quite the eclectic rig you got there. I like it!

I believe a Saint Louis GTG is in order.

    Very nice rig!!! :bassist:

  10. You should put the HLF on top of the PJB. That would look schweet.

I have an 8-space SKB rack; I just haven't put it all together yet. I will soon though and take another picture :)
